Layne Taylor, Owner
Layne began his insurance career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in 1982. As a career agent, he achieved recognition as a member of the Million Dollar Round Table and was a recipient of their prestigious Quality Business Award.
In 1989, he moved to American Medical Security (a subsidiary of BlueCross BlueShield of Wisconsin) as the Sales Manager for the state of Iowa. His responsibility included working with independent agents throughout Iowa. He has been active in both the Iowa Association of Life Underwriters and the Iowa Health Underwriters Association and served on both boards. In 1996, Layne started Taylored Benefits. He had a simple philosophy – to help companies manage the increase in cost of Employee Benefits.
Julie Thompson, Client Account Manager
Julie joined our team in August 2006 during the pursuit of her Master's Degree. She brings over 10 years of experience in the insurance claims industry. Julie obtained her State of Iowa Insurance License in July 2007. In her current role, Julie is responsible for all client support functions. This includes shopping annually for the most competitive rates for each of our clients, acting as a liaison between our clients and the insurance carriers, preparing presentations and other materials, and assisting in enrollments. Her goal is to ensure that all of our clients receive excellent customer care.
